J.Crew Barricade

Interesting name right? So this morning I popped along to have breakfast with J.Crew to find out more ... In the AW 13 season big things will be happening for J.Crew in the UK check out the details below

J.Crew partners with British artist Shona Heath ...... Shona Is  one of Britain’s leading creative directors and set designers, has created a 3D installation of a fleet of London taxis on the side of J.Crew’s new flagship store, to celebrate the brand’s arrival in the capital.

The colourful, life size taxis, will appear as if they are driving out of the façade of the building and will be visible at the store at 165 Regent Street from August to October, prior to the official opening on 1 November. Further to this the first two storeys of the store will be adorned with a trompe l’oeil design. The design will give the illusion of store windows, which will be covered in brushstrokes that complement the colour of the taxis.

Shona Heath’s designs will also pop-up at a second location in August to celebrate a further J.Crew store opening on Brompton Cross, 171-174 Draycott Avenue, on 1 November. Shona’s work will be showcased in a similar creative style, but will pay special attention to colour and will celebrate the local neighbourhood.  There will also be a third store opening on London's Lamb Conduit street, which will concentrate on men's tailoring such as the Ludlow and aim a being a calm space for men to come shop and even have clothing purchased personalised with initials and the store will also offer delivery service of your purchases.

J.Crew is thrilled to be working with Shona Heath, who began her career as a fashion designer but quickly realised that other disciplines in the fashion industry would enable her to be more experimental. She went on to become a set designer and creative director working for a range of fashion houses and fashion magazines. Most notable is her numerous projects with renowned British photographer Tim Walker, with whom she started working in 2010. She now works in a range of disciplines including photography, filmmaking and fine art.

J.Crew prides itself on working and partnering with new and existing talent, whether it’s for brand partnerships sold in-store to their involvement with the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) and more recently to the scholarship program with London’s Central Saint Martins College of Arts and Design ....
