Wild at Heart
Miharayasuhiro’s Spring/Summer 2013 collection takes us on a nostalgic journey back to late eighties North America.
Taking inspiration from David Lynch`s classic film `Wild At Heart` Miharayasuhiro re-interprets the snakeskin blazer given to the protagonist at the beginning of the film into over-sized and embossed textured t-shirts, shorts and shirts.
Animal instincts run throughout the collection in bright blue python loafers through to crocodile embossing on the arms of t-shirts. The mix of classic Americana with a wild edge defines the Miharayasuhiro collection for SS13
Miharayasuhiro`s skill in discovering new ways to disguise and manipulate fabrics from its basic texture is apparent in deconstructed biker jackets, footwear, and accessories. Soft leather is juxtaposed with dry-finished textured materials which includes high density cotton, polyester and linen.
The colours of the collection develop from neutral tones through to flashes of vivid yellow and deep red.
Traditional Oxford brogues are embroidered with an “8”, a reference taken from iconic racing bikes, whilst biker boots have a `clutch pad` hand sewn on to the front of the boot.
Miharayasuhiro has collaborated with renowned Japanese brand “Jam Home Made” to create hard-wearing chained accessories including boot guards, denim chains and wallet chains, re-inforcing the biker image.
This season Miharayasuhiro has explored his heart to release the wildness within.
