The Bodelshausen fashion company presented to the international press for the first time as part of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin with two magical performance fashion shows. Under the title "Magical Birds", the first trends for the 2013 Spring/Summer season were shown in the Hotel de Rome.
Marc Cain creative director Karin Veit had several reasons to be delighted by the minute-long ovation: top representatives of the international fashion press, famous stylists, well-known bloggers and numerous celebrities such as Franziska Knuppe, Katja Flint, Uwe Ochsenknecht, Mirja du Mont and Sonja Kirchberger showed their enthusiasm for the imaginative presentation of the new Spring fashion.
In place of the classical catwalk, Marc Cain surprised guests with a special staging: the highlight was an over-sized bird cage positioned centre stage. This was still shrouded in silk at the start of the show in the "Opera Court" until the veil was lifted and several models emerged, while inside, towards the end of the performance, one model played on a swing. Another eye-catching detail were small cages with brightly coloured exotic birds that were carried through the room by the models.
The fashion highlights of this exclusive preview included sporty but elegant outfits with printed trousers and printed leather jackets, neon-green silk jogging-style trousers combined with a high neck leaf-green silk blouse and a chain necklace, an elegant fringed skirt with a high-buttoned denim shirt and styles with a mix of prints featuring leaves and sea gulls or daisies and stripes.
"I am very happy about the success of the Fashion Week premiere in Berlin and the excellent press reaction," said chief designer Karin Veit after the end of the second show. "This confirmation gives us impetus for the coming round of orders in Düsseldorf," stated Norbert Lock, managing director for wholesale & retail.
