Professor Green x Puma Collaborate

Professor Green x puma

Born out of a mutual admiration and long- standing partnership Between puma and professor green the joint apparel collection marries each of the co-collaBorators distinct styles to create a fresh and innovative collection.

Professor Green’s look is smart, clean and casual. He’s acclaimed for putting his own twist on classic staples to create a layered, refined, urban- inspired look steeped in Professor Green’s own personality.
The creative process has seen Professor Green and PUMA produce outerwear with a utilitarian feel and a clear workwear influence. However, in typical PUMA style the collection is elevated by the application of the collections ‘character’ the Honey Badger. The influence of the honey badger and his habitat will be keenly felt throughout the collection and the campaign imagery. The Honey Badger is fearless and will stand up in the face of intimidation from the most ferocious of predators, something Stephen can relate to.

“When PUMA and myself began the discussion I really wanted to find something to tie the collection together, to make it cohesive, be it a logo or a detail that would run throughout. A few days prior I’d been watching a clip of the most fearless, relentless and absolutely bonkers animal I’d ever seen, a honey badger... and the collection had a starting point. Quality was also key so from the fit to the fabric I’ve been annoyingly as meticulous as I am with my music with the clothes, just don’t go trying to kill a cobra in one of our tracksuits.

My favourite piece from the collection would have to be the staple Honey Badger logo crew neck sweat and pants. It’s a heavy, lasting fabric and perfect for casual wear, just be careful when there’s women around as they are likely to steal the sweaters, have them taken in and wear them as a dress / with leggings / short shorts”.

Stephen’s style is never brash or overly aggressive, but instead smart and understated. This is brilliantly apparent through the functional elements that punctuate the collection, each a nod to the wearers need to be comfortable in their own concrete jungles whilst projecting an air of confidence about the way they look.
Considered fabric applications such as heavy weight peppered sweats and raw canvas coupled with texture mixing and oil finishes give the collection a smart street-luxe look and feel. Design led flourishes such as the repetitive use of the honey badger logo creates an alternative urban camo and demand closer inspection. Premium leather sign offs, bearing Pro Green and PUMA branding, punctuate the collection.
This is a collection designed for the Urban Bourgeoisie, which uses radical camo and just the right amount of urban seasoning to leave everyone in no uncertain terms that “honey really is the new black.”

The Professor Green x PUMA collection will be available from ASOS, Footasylum and all good retailers from mid October 2012.

Last Night I was invited along to see the actual clothes hit the runway and I actually quite enjoyed!! Ive taken a few snaps unfortunately alittl blurry but you should be able to make them out.... I think the range will definitely be hot amongst the streetwear market obviously but may also be a great addition to other demographics....

Hits stores October!

Omega Westfield Stratford Launch Party

Olympic Ambassador Jessica Ennis celebrates the launch of OMEGA Westfield Stratford with an intimate evening of music headlined by local talent Professor Green...

Last night saw a host of celebrities brave the wind and the rain to flock to the OMEGA Westfield Stratford Boutique Launch. OMEGA, Official Timekeepers of the London 2012 Olympics, launched its largest boutique in Europe at the gateway to the Olympic Park celebrating East London, the Olympics and some of the best talent from the UK including sport, music, T.V, fashion and film with OMEGA President Stephen Urquhart and Jessica Ennis hosting the evening.

Much loved TV presenter and silver fox George Lamb kicked off the festivities whilst guests drank champagne and Molecular Margaritas. Self-announced Tequila fan, Benedict Cumberbatch was seen trying all four flavours whilst getting ‘Old Boys’ sporting Rugby tips from Rob Webber and Ollie Phillips with some light hearted banter flying about on their WASPs game on Saturday.

Heads swiftly turned when co-host and one of the UK’s British Gold medal hopefuls, Jessica Ennis dazzled the crowd in a jaw dropping black and white ensemble, a far cry from her track gear. Fashionistas Percy Parker and Amy Molyneux both gave their fashion stamp of approval and were heard literally gasping at how beautiful she was. Showcasing another of her talents Jessica also took to the decks with George Lamb to show him how it’s done.

British Songstress Charlene Soraia’s dulcet tones showcased boxing’s hard man David Haye’s softer side as he stood in awe of her raw talent, after which he spoke to her at length making an unlikely alliance again showcasing an eclectic mix of British talent. The highlight of the evening was an amazing set by Professor Green and DJ I.Q. Even male super-model David Gandy rushed to the front of the stage to see UK music sensation blow the roof off the party, although he had competition for his space when Pro Green fans, The Overtones bustled in to see their favourite artist perform a stellar set too.

Immodesty Blaize and Henry Conway were, as usual, in cahoots but swiftly forgot their East London fashion ‘cool’ when faced with sporting legend Linford Christie. Another example of fashion and sports going hand in hand was Patrick Grant and Olympic swimmer Mark Foster chatting about the importance of a Saville Row suit, especially as Mark finds the perfect fit hard to come by due to his swimmers frame. Tudor’s Tamzin Merchant and toy-boy and The Three Musketeers actor Freddie Fox where found canoodling in a corner and looking very much loves young dream with only eyes for each other, and of course the OMEGA watches.
