DOLCE&GABBANA OPEN A NEW BOND STREET STORE AND KICK OFF LONDON COLLECTIONS SS 14

One of the hottest tickets for London Collections was the Dolce&Gabbana men's tailoring presentation of the forthcoming SS 14 collection.... so on saturday night Brit Model Oliver Cheshire marched a pack of models from London's Claridges Hotel through the streets of Mayfair, London to the new Dolce store located at 53-55 New Bond street ... They were all wearing Dolce of course!

On their arrival they proceeded to present the SS 14 tailoring collection to a very select VIP crowd including the designers themselves, Dylan Jones who co hosted the event, Kylie Minogue and Style Icon and model David Gandy to name a few.

The new store is unique in its concept, look and amenities ... there is an atmosphere of a gentleman's club and the offers bespoke tailoring, an Italian Barber shop, fashion and an array of luxurious accessories...

The night ended with a party with guest toasting the success of the new store .. which I can confirm is truly amazing ... its looks small from the outside but inside its like Dr Who's Tardis ... never ending ... for now check out pictures of the presentation and of course the party and be sure to pop in next time your on New Bond Street as this store is something not to be missed...

Harrods launched its world-famous Summer Sale with twirls, leaps and chasses as 100 dancers surprised huge crowds with a thrilling ‘Green Man’ flash-dance performance.
While 50 performers donned replica outfits of those worn by Harrods’ iconic Green Men, the remaining dancers blended in with the public - dressed as customers, journalists and security guards - before bursting into the immersive routine. The show ended with a confetti-exploding countdown as the doors were officially declared open at 9am.
With a sunny start to the day, London’s shoppers were eager to grab their summer bargains as Fashion Accessories saw huge queues gather for brands including Gucci, Jimmy Choo, Givenchy and DKNY, not to mention Alexander McQueen scarves.

Tatty Devine I Heart Holi Party

Earlier this week I had the pleasure of attending the I Heart Holiday party which was thrown by Tatty Devine in deepest south London.... What what a night it was .... Great cocktails, great Indian inspired drinks and free converse... But the highlight on the night was the pain fighting #screeaaaammm I was not expecting that! I was dressed in dark clothing and most of the other guests young females were all wearing white, everything came to light when the paint was flying and I ran like a big GURRRLL! But these girls and boys of course were really going at it ....

It was a great party, not to the sort I'm use to attending but turned out to be amazing!!! Btw we also got to check out some of the wares available from Tatty Devine before the mayhem and its definitely worth a look in!

All in all great night and I'm now the proud owner of a pair of Tatty Devine earrings ... I wish I had taken part in the paint throwing as participants got free converse #justsayin

Checkout pictures from the night below or the live feed I did from the party on my Instagram, Facebook or tumblr

FYI check out the before and after pictures below. Hilarious!!!

Here's the scoop

Independent British jewellery brand Tatty Devine were joined on Wednesday 27th March by girl band Stooshe, TV presenter Pips Taylor, MTV’s Lilah Parsons and BBC Radio 1 Xtra’s Sarah Jane Crawford at a spectacular I Heart Holi Party, in collaboration with iHeart Studios.

Tatty Devine co-founders Rosie Wolfenden and Harriet Vine threw the huge party for over 300 guests who, despite the arctic temperatures, all turned out to enjoy a blast of colour on the same day as India’s spectacular Holi festival, to celebrate Tatty Devine’s latest jewellery collection.

It all happened at iHeart Studios in Bermondsey, and was sponsored by Midori melon liqueur. The fun really started from 9pm, when guests were given a rainbow of powder paints to throw in traditional Holi style. Everyone emerged from the party covered head-to-toe in bright colour!

Before the paint throwing commenced, guests sipped on colourful drinks such as the ‘Holi Midori’ at Midori's pop-up cocktail bar, and enjoyed food from Kolkata Street Food. Illamasqua provided make-up transformations, top UK henna artist Riffat Bahar created beautiful henna art and glitter tattoos, and the fabulous Nancy MC adorned guests’ nails with exclusive designs. Portraits took place in the iHeart Studios photo booth, and beside a vintage Indian Ambassador car from Karma Kabs.

Goodie bags were fit to bursting with Tatty Devine’s latest jewellery and goodies from Pretty Polly, Eylure, Crazy Colour, Dishoom, Clipper Teas, Method, Montagne Jeunesse and Rosie Wonders. Guests also won jewellery in Tatty Devine's colourful ribbon game and shopped the full Spring/Summer 2013 collection at the party pop-up shop.

Tatty Devine co-founders Rosie Wolfenden and Harriet Vine said: “This is the first time we’ve thrown a party on this scale and we were thrilled so many people turned out to celebrate the Holi festival and our new collection. The collection was inspired by vibrant spring festivals, so a powder paint extravaganza was the perfect way to celebrate and have some fun with colour!”

Amy Pliszka: Bees Beside Us

Amy Pliszka: Bees Beside Us

Bees Beside Us,
agnès b.
35-36 Floral Street,
London WC2E 9DJ (Nearest Tube: Covent Garden)

Exhibition from: 3 May – 1 June 2013
Private View: Thursday 2 May 2013, 6.00 – 8.30pm

Bees Beside Us introduces a new type of beehive: an urban living space designed from the perspective of the honeybee. This exhibition showcases Pliszka’s practice informed by her study of honeybees and wild-bee nest architecture merging the fields of art, science and nature.

Brought together for the first time, Pliszka’s innovative and meticulously crafted beehives can be seen in a unique fashion environment. Commissioned by the French designer and gallerist agnès b. for her flagship London store, these new works promote an increasing awareness of the fragility of bees, their importance to civilization and what must be done to ensure their wellbeing in the city, respecting Albert Einstein’s ethos - “No more bees, no more Man.’’

agnès b. and Pliszka share a common interest in environmental concerns, a love of natural materials and attention to the future of how and where things are made. Pliszka’s beehives combine natural hand-turned, British Walnut wooden domes and bespoke pleated textiles to create the sensitive and expandable space that honeybees’ require. The textiles are made of natural fibres such as silk organza and leather adorned with hand-stitched patterns that respond to honeybees’ vision of complex pattern recognition. These elements can be layered depending on the season to maintain the hive at a constant temperature, reflecting the rituals of dressing for the weather. Exhibited alongside the hives are complimentary bespoke accessories including an insect forage garden and a selection of Pliszka’s hand-made pots for plants and a ceramic birdbath displayed on the roof terrace.

Pliszka became fascinated by the plight of the honeybee - whose worldwide population has decreased by 30 % in the last twenty years - during her studies at Central Saint Martins where her final year project focused on the creation of a new type of hive for the increasing number of bees populating Britain’s cities. Bees Beside Us forges a new relationship with bees in the urban context and appreciates all they do for us far beyond the provision of honey.
