Lucy Folk PIZZA collection launches in-store and online!

Melbourne-based food jeweller Lucy Folk presents her FW13 collection PIZZA, paying homage to the ineffable touch of an Italian woman in her element and her secret PIZZA recipe. A collection that comes with the lot, PIZZA showcases vibrant saucy reds, home-grown greens, and a medley of shapes and textures.

After indulging in some of NYC’s famous curb-side pizza on a recent trip, Lucy felt inspired to cook up her own secret recipe, and on her return she called on some local ladies in the know to help render and personalise the perfect slice.

To work on the base and dough-like shapes, celebrity chef and owner of iconic pizza restaurant Mr Wolf, Karen Martini was called in for a ‘dough throw’ session, the results of which were later fired in an oven at Guy Grossi’s new Ombra Salumi bar.

Local crochet artisan Rochelle King was also recruited to help Lucy realise life-size margarita and collar-shape pepperoni neckpieces made with sparkly metallic yarn and completed with golden crusts and 3D ingredient embellishments.

Other classic pizza toppings including dainty olive pips, crisp parsley leaves, ’shroom slithers, mozzarella twists, anchovy straps and dough rings have been remade in metallics, cast in silver and gold and dished up with a Lucy Folk staple - the peppercorn. These pizza sprinklings feature plentifully across necklaces, rings, earrings and as solo pendants which can be clustered together for a build-your-own pizza look.

Particoloured pepperoni pieces forming earrings are made extra spicy with opal sparkles, cubic zirconia and glass baguette detailing.

Another recurring Lucy Folk motif, the little sterling silver and rose gold-plated triangle, makes for a mini pizza slice, forming neckchains and stud earrings.

The always best-selling friendship-band returns with a new palette and edible additions: black pepper, white salt and rose gold pizza base-style wraps, anchovies and small cheesy pizza triangle slices.

The coveted allspice chains are served up in powder-coated pizza colours representing ripe tomato, Sicilian olive, buffalo mozzarella, basil and golden crust, and are also available with puffy crochet- crust adornments in plain or with extra toppings.

In a collection that celebrates the culinary and visual feast of pizza, Lucy Folk once again captures the fun in food - all, of course, in the name of good taste.
