A colourful encounter,
where British design and craftsmanship meet.
Designer Paul Smith and bootmaker John Lobb collaborate on three special edition shoes, complimenting the tradition, expertise and exceptional quality of a hand-made John Lobb shoe with the sense of optimism, humour and mischief that designer Paul Smith is known for.
The collaboration made its debut on the Paris catwalk at the Paul Smith Spring Summer 2013 show on July 1st and will be available worldwide from John Lobb stores and selected Paul Smith shops from September 1st 2012.
For act one of this new partnership, Paul Smith brings a punctuation of colour, somewhat a signature of his, to three iconic John Lobb styles, selected for both their heritage and contemporary appeal.
Rather than changing the fundamentals of these fine shoes, the addition of colour respects the original understated style yet brings new life and just the right amount of fun. In menswear, a little tweak goes a long way.
- Westbourne, an oxford, features a punched toe. It is offered in museum calf showing a rich variation in tone and a deep lustre. Westbourne is supplied with dyed to match laces and is available in leaf green, lapis blue, iris purple and pebble grey.
- Willoughby, a plain vamp derby, is offered in colourful cashmere suede. It has natural laces and sole edges that give a wonderful contrast to the upper leathers. Willoughby is available in spring green, ocean blue, regal purple and sandy grey.
Westbourne and Willoughby are fitted with shoe trees, stained and waxed in a lighter tone that compliments the hues of the leathers.
- Lucca, a light and flexible loafer, is a shoe for both indoors and outdoors. Lucca comes in lightweight full-grained calf suede, in auburn brown, slate grey, cherry red, ink blue and sea blue.
All shoes are presented in special Paul Smith & John Lobb packaging.
