CHRISTOPHER BEALES "WHEN THE CRYSTAL CRACK'D" WOMENSWEAR A/W 2011

‘When The Crystal Crack’d’ is a sophisticated collection of womenswear by design talent Christopher Beales.

Born out of a love for the process, design, cut and construct, the 17- strong range comes expressly from Christopher’s own hand. His precise tailoring offers women assured elegance and style, whilst his experience as costumier informs his line and work on the stand. Daring to traverse the fine line between fashion and art,  he draws inspiration from the couture houses of old and challenges the perceptions and boundaries of mainstream fashion.

In a career spanning 15 years Christopher Beales’ exposure to the world of fashion began during his tenure at the infamous Boho-chic London label, Voyage. In the intervening years that followed, he sharpened his craft working in the High Street sector before opening his first dedicated studio in North London in 2005

Christopher has worked as a cutter for some of the world’s largest designer labels such as Biba, Michiko Koshino, Matthew Williamson, Twenty8Twelve, and more recently Alexander McQueen. In broadening his scope to the world of costume, he worked as a tailor on films including Batman- The Dark Night, Valkyrie, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and Robin Hood; and in theatre on Piaf, Twelfth Night and Seasons Greetings. Christopher also works closely with music video directors and has designed and made outfits for Prince, Paul McCartney and The Feeling, together with advertising campaigns for GHD and Max Factor.

Christopher currently operates from his studio in North London and will be presenting his A/W 2011 collection, ‘When The Crystal Crack’d’ during London Fashion Week on the 18th and has signed to Forward PR for representation.
