BOGLIOLI AUTUMN – WINTER 14/15 #MILAN

The Milanese 1960's decade represented a symbolic time for the world's aesthetics. Designers, artists and intellectuals met the rising industry and its entrepreneurs in a melting pot of creativity and business. This generated examples to follow first and then history.

,

For the new Autumn/Winter Collection, Boglioli studied the elegance of these men that expresses an effortless style and wore a product of the intellectual thinking and culture rather than mere self-representation. The collection draws upon that same relaxed yet perfect flair of the Milanese intellectuals and the entrepreneurs of the 1960's, who were precious contributors of the Italian miracle related to design and contemporary art.

A deep research on coats and vintage pieces represents the very starting point. Each garment is conceived to aesthetically preserve customs, rituals and even memories of the past generations associated with this symbolic place. Shoulders sculpted by time, silhouettes designed by natural movements of the body, necklines folded by everyday gesture. Body language and intellectual codes become fundamental principles of this collection.

Time transforms into form without surrendering to nostalgia. Committing instead to describing an ultra sophisticated relaxed statement. The path to working this magic naturally originates at the heart of Boglioli: the mastery of craftsmen, true professionals capable of giving fabric a new comfortable and soft look that has seemingly always been there.

The Pashmina Jacket, Boglioli’s iconic item, is presented in a new, more casual version featuring raw cut, absence of lining and precious details such as copper plated metal buttons.

Patterns include tartan designs on bright backgrounds, zigzagged jacquard and horizontal stripes borrowed from old college sweaters.

Every piece is impeccably tailored and cut in the best of traditions, treatments and washes to re-create a suppler, historic appearance. The intention is to modernize and restore the effortless elegance of a particular Milan. The same city that will be displayed during the presentation. A home situated over Galleria Passerella, right in the heart of Milan, boasting a breathtaking view on the buildings that trace the historic skyline of the city.
