Lee Cooper launches AW13 collection

Lee Cooper Launches AW13 Collection Inspired by British Eccentricity

East London’s original denim brand, Lee Cooper, launches a collection for AW13 which amplifies the values of modern youth culture with a range inspired by British eccentricity.

Drawing upon the grandeur and revelry of late night parties at a British country manor, Lee Cooper pepper the AW13 casual wear collection with touches of opulence. The overall feel is one bursting with the eclecticism synonymous with British fashion.

Fabrics characteristic of country manor living such as tweed and waxed cottons provide a practical canvas for the introduction of decadence and romanticism, accomplished through rich velvet fabrics in regal shades of navy, olive and mustard.

WOMENSWEAR

The women’s collection from Lee Cooper draws inspiration from both inside and outside the country manor. Tree carvings, countryside animals and decorative wallpaper adorn Lee Cooper’s womenswear separates. Leather jackets and velvet skinny jeans have a distinct rock and roll look, hinting at the rebellion of British youth in keeping with Lee Cooper’s heritage.  Clashed with florals prints and chambray trimmed woven shirts, the sumptuousness of the more luxurious fabrics in the Lee Cooper womenswear collection are styled together for an effortless, nonchalant result.

MENSWEAR

Lee Cooper’s menswear for AW13 has a leisurely Lord of the Manor feel to it, with prints influenced by family ancestry and future travels. The double-breasted officer’s jacket is key, heavily hinting at military memorabilia, another strand to Lee Cooper’s longstanding heritage.

Additional outerwear styles fundamental to the modern man’s wardrobe include the quilted bomber, blazers, winter parka and essential leather jacket. Lee Cooper’s workwear heritage is especially evident in the AW13 menswear collection, as seen in detailing such as pocket shapes and metal hardware.

DENIM

The AW13 denim ranges for both men and women focus on simple silhouettes in shades of indigo blue, as well as muted autumnal tones of red, olive and beige, reflecting the seasonal colours of a country manor’s grounds. Washes are clean, with naturally occurring areas of wear to give an authentic finish. Lee Cooper’s workwear DNA is present throughout in details such as fabric reinforcement and factory stamps on the turn up of a denim cuff. Denims featuring functional detailing and simplicity of design remain core to Lee Cooper’s signature style.
