Happy Birthday to A Suit That Fits
Recently, I was delighted to attend A Suit That Fits 5th birthday with a spectacular party at the Future Gallery. The night was truly magical as we celebrated the success of A Suit That Fits.
Throughout the night we saw great performances from Tally Koren and accompanied by a gospel choir.
The atmosphere was fantastic and guests were greeted with a delicious serve of Courvoisier Punch, canapes and we especially loved their suit-shaped cake despite the green icing, delicious!
More about the Brand:
" We’ve both always had a passion for suits, which became more than just an interest after I had a number of fantastic quality fine woollen suits made whilst doing voluntary work in Nepal in 2005.
I remained friends with the tailoring family who made my first suits from Nepal and on returning to the UK, I met up with old schoolfriend David; together we decided to use our engineering and software backgrounds to simplify tailoring and bring back the idea of a local tailor for everyone. We trialled the idea of A Suit That Fits at Hampstead market and sold our first two suits within twenty minutes of opening. This was a clear sign that we had a viable business idea, so we then worked through the night to create a simple website that was just about able to make one of our uniquely customised suits. We rented our first studio near Liverpool Street Station using money loaned on a credit card, and David continued to work two jobs for the first six months to help get us started.
Since 7th June 2006 when we registered our first customer, we’re thrilled and very proud to be part of a fantastic and growing team of wonderful people both here in the UK and in Nepal at A Suit That Fits, and thank you to our wonderful customers for your ongoing support and custom

Happy Birthday!!! and thanks for a great night

A Suit That Fits Design Competition shortlist announced!
Ok so cast your minds back to March when I told you about A Suit That Fits and their design competition, well we are at the stage where some of the best entrants have been shortlisted. Ok my one wasn't I can't think why (was not hot lol) but when you see these designs you will see why!
For months, stylish suit lovers have been putting together their very best creations in the hope of being shortlisted for A Suit That Fits’s Design Competition to be in with a chance of having their design sold on the website!
The designs were shortlisted by an expert judging panel, including TV presenter, Rick Edwards, Directors Of .COM’s Leon Bailey-Green, Principal Lecturer at The London College of Fashion, Alan Cannon-Jones and A Suit That Fits's Product Development Manager, Mighel Critten.
The designs will be showcased next week on A Suit That Fits’s blog, and will then be put to the public vote for one week, to determine the final three winners. Voting opens on Friday May 13th. A Suit That Fits received over 70 entries, and can now announce the shortlisted designs that will be put to the public vote on the website (www.aSuitThatFits.com/designcompetition ) as follows:
Tom Evans, 23, Plymouth University
Tom designed separates with a trendy edge. He loved the British feel of the tweed on the jacket and waistcoat. “When designing my suit I really wanted to focus on creating something that would appeal to a large number of people and would push boundaries, without overstepping them. I decided to go with separates rather than a matching suit, because it’s a look that will never go out of fashion and can be worn for most occasions
Amanda Salway, 21, De Montfort University
Amanda wanted to explore tradition and push the boundaries with new details. “The garments I have designed blend aspects of traditional tailoring with sporting features. The silhouette and fit echoes the streamlined male forms in sport, contouring the natural male physique.”
Ionela Diana Oancea, 37, Coventry University
Diana Oancea studied law in Romania and practiced as a barrister for 5 years in Bucharest, specialising in criminal law. “The transition from law to fashion was a natural because the connection between law and art is that both are open to interpretation.” she says. Her inspiration came from several characters, including Beau Brummell, Oscar Wilde and George Clooney.
“My design was inspired by the 19th century gentlemen looks, where suits were worn as everyday wear. The double breasted suit is a timeless design which has been on and off the catwalk through decades.” says Trung.
Karen was keen to show how unique and individual you can make a suit look, she said “I really got excited about suits and tailored jackets after my university project and realised there’s so much you can do that hasn't yet been done, which is why I tried to make my design as unique as possible.”
Elena specialises in menswear at university and wanted to show “the elements of divisions within my concepts, seemingly showing a calm clean idea but with dark, controversial undertones.” Her Dirty Dandy is every man that tries to change his personality, clothes, and location, in order to push themselves up the social chain
Carl Rutherford-Smith, 24, Manchester Metropolitan University
Carl has always loved great suits and his design was inspired by Cecile Deaton and Stephen Tennant.
Manish Bansal, 29, London College of Fashion
Manish wanted to design a suit that would not only be stylish but practical too, as a cyclist himself, he noticed one particular problem faced by the regular cycle commute; the choice between cycling gear or a suitable attire for work or a social occasion, resulting in him carrying two sets of clothing. His innovative design incorporates both style and practicality, a perfect combination for the modern cyclist.
Charlotte Guymer, 18, Amersham & Wycombe College
Charlotte’s design is inspired by the 1950’s Teddy Boy look. Charlotte wanted to make a suit that looks great for both men and women. She took a classic design and brought it up to date.

A Suit That Fits launches casual tailored jacket
Don’t get hot under the collar this summer with A Suit That Fits’s cotton jacket option!
As the weather finally heats up, suit wearers can become hot under the collar with their
formal, structured suits. But let’s not suggest that everyone travels to work in shorts and tee
shirts, A Suit That Fits have developed a perfect solution - a lightweight, cotton unstructured
jacket.

The unstructured, cotton jacket has regular interfacing but no chest canvas, shoulder pads
or sleeve head rolls and is made of 100% cotton, which gives the jacket a softer shape and
lighter weight - perfect for the summer heat. Why not team the unstructured jacket with a
half-lining to keep cool and stay dapper? The deconstructed jacket gives a really effortless,
casual style. Starting from just £175 for a jacket, the deconstructed option is affordable too.
A Suit That Fits started as the world’s first online tailoring company and now has 27
locations nationwide. With over forty billion different design, style, and colour combinations
in a vast range of beautiful, high quality fabrics A Suit That Fits allows you to design a suit
to fit your frame, budget and personal style - with suits starting at £200.

BREAKFAST EVENT WITH A SUIT THAT FITS!
Earlier this week I was invited along to meet the fabulous guys and girls of suit company A Suit That Fits. We arrive to breakfast and once we finish Mighel Crittin ( Product Development Manager) talks us through the collection and talks to us about design and where the company is heading. The suit is in black fine mohair fabric with the lapels having a purple trim on the lapels and single vent
