Julien Macdonald SS 16 .... What can I say ???? It was an early start on day two and fashion pack descended on Smithfield market, as I approached the venue which was actually in the market you could here the music thumping and see the fashion elite and celebrities making there way into the show ... I was invited personally by Julien himself and I for one was totally looking forward to seeing what Mr Macdonald would present to the fashion world press especially with the fact that he revealed to me he would be debuting his first menswear collection.
Now you might have seen me wearing Julien Macdonald clothing in outfit posts, this was from a collaboration he did a while back and I was lucky enough to be sent a fab suit .... Now it was with this suit I owned and my overactive brain I tried to guess what he would present ... I was think the Creme de la Creme of suiting mainly tuxedo with glitz and glamour ... Remind me not to think it's not cute ... How wrong was I?? The first lol presented was a silk style kimono robe with matching shirts it silk, followed by embellished tops which ran through and complimented womenswear and crochet tops shorts and leggings or meggings as i like to call them. All a total to surprise and had the guests paying attention maybe because they were over thinking like I was and I know they were as speaking to pals afterwards we all agreed it was not what we were expecting ....but in a good way ... Julien took his first menswear to church and back a total triumph!!! The silk shirts and matching shorts worn with black gladiator sandals took us on a journey a luxurious journey to a far away place a far away Glamouros place where when worn would definitely attract attention ... My thoughts I can't wait to,own a few more pieces from this man and his well thought and executed collection.
Just touching on womenswear as I wrote about both .. Womenswear was just sheer and utterly glamour on waking glamazons ... The gowns, the embellishment the styling ... I could see my pal Rosie fortescue who was wearing Macdonald for the show sitting on the front row licking her lips ...
Sheer perfection never gets it wrong and a great way the start day two I eft the show on a high!!
