WANT Les Essentiels de la Vie is pleased to introduce you to its latest Autumn/Winter 2014 collection. Co-founders Byron and Dexter Peart invite you to immerse yourself in the refreshing juxtaposition found in Japanese culture, where tradition and modernity artfully coexist. The result is an inspiring harmony created through contrast, the very foundation the brand was built on.
This season, the welcoming, natural materials found in a traditional Japanese mountain lodge—warm woolen blankets, smooth rice paper and natural bamboo—inform the collection’s desirable textures. Echoing the earthy color palette found in nature, this season’s stunning neutrals such as smoky gray, marine blue and seaweed green are introduced to the brand’s signature French leather, while pops of transportive mountain prints—a continuation of the brand’s successful partnership with Liberty Art Fabrics—are studded throughout the product offering.
New WANT Les Essentiels de la Vie silhouettes, like the Peretola foldable folio, are updated with thick wools in checked patterns and blanket stripes. Also new this season, the Barajas folio has been upgraded to a larger size that fits comfortably tucked under your arm. The brand’s now-iconic Kastrup backpack returns, this time given a luxurious treatment of full leather, for a look that is as sleek as it is practical.
This season, discover the WANT Les Essentiels de la Vie collection that celebrates and echoes the dichotomy of Japanese culture—one steeped in tradition yet still markedly ahead of the curve as it creates a modern and innovative future.
