Stolen Moments - Aquascutum AW 14 AD Campaign with Damien Lewis

Autumn Winter 2014 Campaign – Stolen Moments

Founded in 1851, Aquascutum’s heritage is rooted in the excellence of British tailoring and to this day delivers a stylish and luxurious elegance. Not always realised, the words ‘Aqua Scutum’ in Latin translate to ‘Water Shield’; for tailor and founder of the brand John Emary was the person responsible for pioneering the first waterproof wool fabric, then used from 1914 to make the functional trench coats for officers in the First World War. This year marks the 100th Anniversary of the Trench Coat.

Shot by renowned fashion photographer Alasdair McLellan and in partnership with creative agency Art Partner, Aquascutum proudly presents their Autumn Winter 2014 campaign featuring award winning British actor Damian Lewis and enigmatic British supermodel Eliza Cummings.

Alasdair McLellan photographs the couple in film in elegant black and white portraits/shots under the atmospheric iron arches of Macclesfield bridge on London’s Regent’s Canal. The romantic and cinematic environment captures the two in an intimate stolen moment, just steps away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

The brand’s iconic trench makes an appearance in the seam-sealed navy wool single breasted Howell coat worn by Damian, whilst Eliza looks effortlessly stylish in the oversized cloud-coloured Baxter coat. In one shot the couple stand under the brand’s iconic check umbrella, with appropriate raindrops falling around them.

A behind the scenes film and short Instagram film edit was also shot by Alasdair’s team and features Damian Lewis, Eliza Cummings and Thomas Harvey (Head of Menswear Design).
