LVMH ANNOUNCES TWELVE FINALISTS FOR THE LVMH PRIZE FOR YOUNG FASHION DESIGNERS

LVMH ANNOUNCES TWELVE FINALISTS
FOR THE LVMH PRIZE
FOR YOUNG FASHION DESIGNERS

Twelve finalists have been selected by a panel of forty-two experts of the fashion industry after the showroom where the thirty shortlisted designers presented their collections, on February 26th and 27th at the LVMH headquarters.

The list reflects the diversity of the Prize with designers hailing from Belgium, France, Italy, Germany, Ireland, India, Russia, Canada and the United States of America. Three of them design menswear.

Delphine Arnault states: "The LVMH Prize finalists reflect the vitality and diversity of young fashion today. The singularity as well as the high level of quality of their collections particularly impressed the experts. I wish them the best of luck for the last step that awaits them which will be highly emotional. Moreover, I want to thank and congratulate all of the young designers who participated in this first edition of the LVMH Prize, especially the short-listed designers who are not part of the finalists today. It was difficult to make a choice. I was able to appreciate their exceptional work when I met with them during their visit to Paris, as did Bernard Arnault, some members of the jury such as Nicolas Ghesquière, Karl Lagerfeld, Umberto Leon, Carol Lim, Raf Simons and Riccardo Tisci, as well as prominent figures who were invited".

The twelve designers are now requested to come back to Paris on May 28th to meet the members of the jury who will elect the winner of the LVMH Prize for Young Designers 2014 edition.

In the meantime, the first edition of the contest for Graduates was very successful with more than 600 applicants from world renowned school such as Central Saint Martins College of Arts and Design, Esmod, Parsons, IFM Paris, Bunka, La Cambre, Polimoda... The three winners of the LVMH Graduates Prize will be made known on the 28th of May as well.
