Great Retail Revival Announces Results for Live Judging

The Great Retail Revival Foundation last night announced the twenty entrants who are shortlisted for a live judging stage of the POPatHOF competition on Friday, 28 March 2014 at the House of Fraser Head Office on Baker Street.

The competition attracted nearly 200 entrepreneurial retail brand entries from across the UK.

Participants were challenged to submit a 2-3 minute pitch video introducing themselves and their retail proposition to The Great Retail Revival Foundation and House of Fraser. The entries were of a particularly high standard which made shortlisting them down to twenty ‘easier said than done but great fun’, said Keata Murray, Co-founder of the Foundation. ‘The ambition and determination was evident in every single submission.’

Short-listed retail brands will compete for a spot in the final stage of the competition, a pop up shop in House of Fraser’s flagship Oxford Street and on House of Fraser website from 8-26 May 2014.

Nine winners will be chosen directly by the judging panel with a tenth spot given to the winner from a shortlist of three which will be judged by the public via The Great Retail Revival’s website.www.thegreatretailrevival.org At the end of the pop-up on May 27, one brand will be chosen to retail at HoF for a year online and will be considered for an in-store concession.

Friday’s expert judging panel includes: House of Fraser's COO Nigel Oddy; Dress2Kill Founder & The Great Retail Revival’s Co-founder James Hibbert; Liz Houghton, Founder of Mint Velvet; Anna Murphy, Editor of The Sunday Telegraph's Stella Magazine; and Katy Young, Beauty Editor at The Daily Telegraph.
