For the second consecutive year, Giorgio Armani supports Paris Photo,
the major international photography fair, at the Grand Palais in
Paris from November 15th to 18th, 2012.
As official partner of this event, Giorgio Armani will support the
“Recent Acquisitions” exhibition, and will present “ACQUA #2”, a new
selection of photographs on the theme of water.
A reoccurring element in Giorgio Armani’s work, water – and more
specifically water supply – has also been since 2009 a social cause
supported by the designer through the “Acqua for Life” challenge,
which has helped to collect more than 52 million litres of drinkable
water for Green Cross International (UNICEF for United States) and
its programmes in Ghana and Bolivia, during its latest edition.
“ACQUA #2” will exhibit works by 9 photographers symbolising the
power of this natural element, its vital energy. Giorgio Armani has
selected these works from proposals by the curators of three guest
institutions
(LACMA – Los Angeles, Huis Marseille - Amsterdam, Fotomuseum - Winterthur) and exhibiting galleries at Paris Photo.
Marco Breuer, Anthony Friedkin, Dodo Jin Ming, Syoin Kajii, Joel Meyerowitz, Shinichi Murayama, Toshio Shibata, Aaron Siskind, Alec Soth.
