Acclaimed avant-garde jewelry designer Delfina Delettrez revisits the iconic forms which she has made her own, mixing them with new forms in an exclusive capsule collection for yoox.com, available online from November 2012.
Made up of two seemingly disparate parts - the first part of the collection focuses on the natural world with a focus on realism. Classically inspired silver acanthus leaves are carefully adorned with vividly colored miniature insects.
The second part of the collection takes its lead from geometry: where hexagonal cells reminiscent of bee-hives are transformed by Delfina into a bracelet adorned with miniature rotating spheres and a pair of earrings where the decorative elements seem almost precarious.
These dual inspirations come together in the finger-ring. Inspired by the classic shape of the antique ‘seal’ rings, Defina updates the form by adding interchangeable decorations featuring vividly colored microscopic caterpillars and flies. Crafted from enameled silver, these ‘creatures’ are suspended in geometric resin globes like botanical specimens under a magnifying glass - their colors and minute detailing come to life.
The collection is made up of 6 elements:
• 2 styles of earrings
• Bracelet
• Brooch
• Ring with interchangeable decorations
• Necklace and Pendant
