CONVERSE - FIX TO RIDE

On Saturday 26th May, Converse Skateboarding presented its first ever UK edition of Fix to Ride at Kennington Bowl, London.

Fix to Ride is Converse’s global platform that sets out to improve derelict concrete skate parks, refurbishing and reviving them for the local community.

The historic bowl at Kennington was deemed a perfect candidate for the Fix to Ride with its unusable skating conditions, resulting from the huge cracks and uneven surface that had developed over the 35 years since its initial launch.

After two action-packed weeks of renovation, the fixed-up bowl was unveiled this past Saturday to an excited crowd who gathered in the London sunshine to witness the celebration along with an epic Converse UK Skateboarding competition. As part of the competition, some of the UK’s top skate stores battled it out until ‘Rollersnakes’ came out on top, taking home the winning prize along with the bragging rights of becoming London’s first Fix to Ride champions.

Following the competition, Converse Skateboarding Ambassadors Pontus Alv, Rory Milanes, Harry Lintell and Jerome Campbell tore into the newly refurbished bowl and deemed it an unbelievable improvement.

The Fix to Ride Kennington bowl is located at the northern end of Kennington Park in London and is now open for the skate community.
