VERSACE ANNOUNCES THE LAUNCH OF ATELIER VERSACE JEWELRY

Versace is pleased to announce the launch of the Atelier Versace Jewelry collection, which will be unveiled during the Autumn/Winter 2012-13 Atelier Versace fashion show at the Ritz Paris, on Sunday July 1st.

This inaugural collection will be composed of exquisite one-of-a-kind rings mounted with a variety of precious stones such as diamonds, yellow diamonds, emeralds, sapphires and amethysts, as well as aquamarine and citrine gemstones. Many of the styles have been intricately sculpted by hand.

“As a designer and a collector of fine jewelry I have always wanted to offer the same quality of craftsmanship in jewelry as we offer with the Atelier Versace fashion collection,” says Donatella Versace. “Each individual ring from the collection is a work of art.”

Targeted at discerning couture clients, the Atelier Versace Jewelry collection is the perfect complement to the Maison’s similarly named couture collection. Exclusive and glamorous, the Atelier Versace fashion collection features all the intricacies that the refined craftsmanship of couture allows. The Atelier Versace Jewelry collection will be available for sale by appointment only and will not be reproduced.

The return of Atelier Versace to the Paris runway on July 1st is a highly anticipated event. Scheduled for 7.30 and 8.30 pm, the two Atelier Versace runway shows will be held in the Ritz’s Salon Vendôme.

The Ritz Paris hosted numerous Atelier Versace runway shows from 1990 until Gianni Versace presented his last collection there in July 1997. Following her brother’s death, Donatella Versace continued to show Atelier Versace at the Ritz Paris until 2000, and returned once again with the collection in January 2004. The forthcoming show on July 1st will be one of the last major events to take place at the Ritz Paris before it closes its doors on July 31st for an unprecedented restoration project.

Atelier Versace returned to the Paris couture calendar last January with a presentation at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts. Celebrities such as Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Lopez, Gwyneth Paltrow, Lady Gaga and Uma Thurman have all turned to Atelier Versace for their red carpet appearances.
