Shoescribe.com - the new online destination dedicated to shoes

YOOX GROUP LAUNCHES
The online destination dedicated entirely to shoes and everything that surrounds them

YOOX Group is set to launch shoescribe.com, a new online destination for women where shoes and everything that surrounds them take the spotlight. “From our twelve years of experience in e-commerce, we know shoes are the undisputable bestsellers globally. As such we wanted to dedicate an online space entirely to shoes but also to really focus on service and a unique way to shop online,” says Federico Marchetti, Founder and CEO of YOOX Group.

Accordingly, shoescribe.com will take a novel approach to shoe shopping, offering a new and intriguing perspective on footwear through a blend of three main elements – e-commerce, exclusive shoe-related services and editorial content.

The distinctive selection is both edited and wide-ranging and will have over 100 brands at launch that cover the spectrum from top names to researched niche labels including Acne, Alexander Wang, Bally, Giambattista Valli, Marni, Marc Jacobs, Opening Ceremony, Proenza Schouler and Sergio Rossi among many others. New brands will be added continuously and users will be able to shop by designer, category, occasion and heel. Additionally, the site will also sell just about everything else related to shoes – books, jewelry, design items and shoe-care products among other things.

Via an annual subscription to shoescribe.com, Shoescribers will receive exclusive services that include complimentary shoe repair, a custom-made shoe care kit, free shipping throughout the year, dedicated customer care and many other special features including “Cinderella for a Day” (half off a pair of shoes as a birthday gift).

For its inauguration, shoescribe.com has enlisted the expertise of modern-day film and fashion luminary and fellow shoe- lover Arianne Phillips, who will be the guest curator of the online store for the first week after launch. Arianne has worked with Hollywood’s best and brightest, on films such as A Single Man, Walk the Line and Madonna’s directorial debut W.E., the latter two for which she received Oscar nods, just to name a few. Arianne will contribute to shoescribe.com with her must have picks, trend ideas and interviews chronicling her life and Hollywood experiences from the shoe point of view.

“I love shoes! Footwear is constant inspiration for me. Whether it is researching characters for the films I am the Costume Designer for or designing a costume for an artist I work with like Madonna or simply planning a fashion editorial, I always start from the shoes up,” says Arianne. “Shoes tell our story, they inform how we walk, dance and present ourselves - they can be practical or frivolous, serious or comical shoes are the windows to our character.”

The site’s editorial component, which consists of daily editor’s picks (Stars), the latest trends (Spotlight) and a blog-style section called Newsreel, provides the context making for an innovative experience for both shoppers and readers alike. The mise-en-scène of the website in addition to the Newsreel section takes inspiration from a particular source – the world of cinema and old Hollywood glamour. shoescribe.com will smoothly weave the worlds of fashion and film through interviews with costume designers, articles on shoes featured in films, Q&A's with actors and behind the scenes on sets alongside other shoe-related content providing an entertaining spin and a novel perspective on what we put on our feet. There will also be street style images, answers to any questions from Ms. Suzie Scribe, the site's resident shoe guru, and Shoe Valet where you can find tips and advice on shoe care and a list of hand-picked cobblers.

shoescribe.com is Powered by YOOX Group and benefits from the Group’s offices and operations in the United States, Europe, Japan, China and Hong Kong, ensuring an exceptional level of customer service: rapid and reliable delivery to more than 100 countries worldwide with over 99% of deliveries on time, easy returns and best-in-class customer care.
