Transform your commute into a catwalk with Autumn/Winter’s essential

Transform your commute into a catwalk with
Autumn/Winter’s essential accessory

The autumn/winter 2012 menswear weeks were keen to show they meant business this season, with the likes of Christopher Bailey at Burberry, Salvatore Ferragamo, Ermenegildo Zegna and Brioni ensuring their runway’s were kept in order with the precision of a sophisticated portfolio case.

Tucked neatly under the arm or carried in hand, this trend has filtered all the way through to celebrity with style savvy Jude Law and dapper dresser Scott Disick showing how to work the look.

Now you can get boardroom appeal with these desirable document cases from gentlemen’s outfitter Smart Turnout (£99 each http://www.smartturnout.co.uk/ ). Presented in cotton canvas with a leather trim, for a sturdy yet classic feel, these new additions to the brand’s portfolio feature a stunning striped lining and webbing detail on the closure in either the colours of the Royal Artillery, the Royal Regiment of Scotland or the Royal Navy.

A sophisticated addition to the classic suited and booted look, ideal for carrying around those meeting agendas or even a tablet, these document holders are bound to draw attention in the boardroom this season.

SMART TURNOUT POPS UP IN SELFRIDGES

The British menswear heritage label launches for the first time in the UK with an exclusive unveiling at Selfridges in London, just in time for Father’s Day.

• 14 May until mid-June 2012
• Mens Formalwear on 1, Selfridges London
• Prices from £15 to £400

Left to right: leather striped billfold wallet £75, Dartmouth enamel cufflinks £45, Princess of Wales Royal Regiment socks £15, Royal Welsh Ribbon belt £50.

Selfridges is delighted to announce the launch of this exclusive preppy pop-up within the store’s mens formalwear space, celebrating classic gentlemen’s styling that draws on the colours of Britain’s most elite institutions. As the first ever department store showcase for the brand, the pop-up plays host to the physical debut for the previously online-only retailer.

The pop-up will feature the brand’s much-coveted accessories range of bags, bow ties, braces and belts, as well as watches, socks and cufflinks in the traditional spirit of Father’s Day gift ideas.

Adam Kelly, Selfridges Buying Manager for Mens Formalwear & Accessories, comments: “We see a huge appetite for quality gifting around Father’s Day and aim to make that shopping experience as convenient as possible, so we’re delighted to be able to offer the collection from Smart Turnout in a dedicated space in-store. We see it as a real one-stop-shop for gift ideas. Furthermore, product lines with a British heritage feel are performing extremely well for Selfridges this season.”

Smart Turnout is the brainchild of former Scots Guards officer Philip Turner. Having had his racing colours knitted for the Grand Military Gold Cup at Sandown, Philip looked to source a quality jumper in his regimental colours. Unable to find a retailer, he set out to make his own and it wasn’t long before his attire caught the eye of his fellow Guardsmen. Soon, Philip was producing not only jumpers, but ties, socks and a whole host of accessories.

Jump forward ten years, and Smart Turnout has well and truly transformed from a regimental retailer to a fully-fledged menswear line. The collection expertly combines quality fabrics with fashion forward styling, all enriched with the colourful heritage of the elite institutions it was inspired by years before.
A true British champion, Smart Turnout accessories are designed and produced to the highest standard in the UK. With the Olympics and the Diamond Jubilee upon us, 2012 looks set to be one of the most influential years for Britain, and Smart Turnout aims to keep flying the flag for British heritage style.

Another brand I wore at London Fashion Week was Smart Turnout, I love the honestly of the clothes its very dressed up but dressed down nature.

The clothes I would brand very preppy and English heritage with its look with no age demographic.....

Effortless styling that would not look out of place in most everyday situations....

The pieces I wore were socks, scarves, Polo tops, belts and bow ties and would have no problem wearing again as it caused lots of interest.

LONDON FASHION WEEK DAY 2 OUFIT

So day 2 carrying on with the Rule Britannia theme I was dressed by Crombie Ltd and chose the 'Great' coat for today.  Made up of cashmere and wool the 'Great' coat was soft to the touch light and so so stylish.  I teamed it up with a bright red Ralph Lauren Polo shirt and jumper to inject some (red is a hot colour for A/W 10.  I was also fortunate to wearing SS 11 Wrangler Spencer jeans which were a slim straight fit.  No for accessories I wore a red, white and blue striped Smart Turnout London scarf, same colours on my socks and a blue and red striped belt both also from Smart Turnout.

This was the result.....  Lots of press and attention which was quite odd but amusing........

THIS WEEK IM LOVING...... SMART TURNOUT LONDON

This week I came across the fabulous Smart Turnout London and I'm liking alot!  Its preppy, its, sporty, its very Oxford but most important its very wearable.  Smart Turnout have everything a man needs from ties to socks  and everything in between, when I look at the clothes I automatically think preppy and I'm transported to the Henley Regatta but I'm there dressed with a twist.

Smart Turnout embodies unique British style: vibrant colours, bold patterns and exacting design. Our collection provides everything the modern man requires, adding colour to his wardrobe. Our name is a regimental term - put simply it means looking your absolute best. We believe looking good needn’t be a military operation. We know everyone is different, and therefore our pieces can be worn your way. Dressed up or dressed down, preppy or traditional, with our range you’ll always have the confidence that you are the best you can be.

Verdict I love the clothes think they are very very wearable sounds like a cliche but they can be dressed up or down, I can see myself in a blazer shirt and stripey belt on a beautiful spring day.

Double tthumbs up my kind of clothes!
