Austin Reed Spring/Summer 11 (Mainline)

I've noticed over the last couple of months I have slowly but sure been giving myself a makeover, my look is becoming more classic, with clean lines more of a tailored look and when I saw the Austin Reed SS 11 collection I loved it and knew I wanted to share it with...

Austin Reed looks to architectural inspiration, British preppy, Mad Men and key separates to encapsulate the new collection for Spring/Summer 2011. Suits take an architectural edge; classic and structural in fit. Suit stripes are refined, not bold of yesteryear.

Fine micro textures bring heavyweight stature to the suit but lightweight fit to suit summer months. Prince of Wales check in light weave emphasises a Mad Men theme to suiting.

Blue is the seasonal colour; from navy to peacock, cobalt to pastel; combinations of blue in key separates offer a fresh, clean look. Check seersucker ties, crested collars, linen and herringbone blazers with elbow patches add the ‘prep’ to preppy.

Crisp blue blazers with contrast buttons, buggy lined double-faced fabrics with exuberant pink linings give an essence of cheekiness to sit alongside British collegiate styling. Separates take on a new force; dusky coloured chinos are paired with blazers, silk scarves and pocket squares for suave, smart casual dressing.

Kid mohair and cashmere wool blends in a sophisticated colour palette establishes quality and comfort in the finest weave. Here lies an eclectic collection of casual, crisp sophistication and architectural, structured suiting for a complete summer wardrobe; whatever the weather, whatever the occasion.

The premium Austin Reed Signature range exudes impeccable detail and confident tailoring. The capsule collection focuses on proportion and design offering clean lines and sharp silhouettes. Fresh fabrics and subtle textures encapsulate the refined look of the sophisticated modern man. Shirting and ties complete tonal looks in a palette of fresh blue and crisp white with an accent of pink. Key pieces include the blue dip dye slim blade tie, and the rounded collar white shirt for the ultimate in modern sophistication.

Love the collection, also love the Austin Reed R collection and Viyella.  Double thumbs up from the Clotheshorse!

AUSTIN REED Q CLUB EVENT

Where: Austin Reed Flagship store, Regent St, London
When: 19th October

Tuesday night I was invited to attend the Q club event at Austin Reed's flaghship store, OK! right now you must be asking yourself what is Q Club?

What is Q Club?

Q Club is an exclusive members club open to members nationwide and its main aim is to take your formal wear to another league.  Specialising in three areas Q Bespoke, Q Hirewear and Q Corporate, it gives members a chance to customise their individual formal attire, whilst enjoying exclusive membership benefits.  Some of the benefits include use of the members only Q Bar and lounge within the labels flagship store, 20% discount on all Austin Reed products including Q Hire and Q Bespoke and one half price bespoke suit.

The night was a very relaxed affair where guest mingled with Q Club Ambassadors which included Alastair Cook (England cricket player) among others and it was a great chance to catch up with an old friend of mine interior designer and socialite Nicky Haslam.

Overall brilliant night and great concept.
