Steve Coogan turns on the Christmas Lights at the Stella McCartney Bruton Street store





Tonight the annual Christmas lighting of the Stella McCartney Bruton Street store in London was hosted by the designer and featured a comedic sketch by the celebrated Steve Coogan. The annual switching of the Christmas light event is powered by Ecotricity and is now in its tenth year. Previous comedic acts featured over the years have included: Barry Humphries as Dame Edna, Jennifer Saunders as Edina Monsoon from “Absolutely Fabulous”, Catherine Tate as Nan and “Little Britain’s” David Walliams and Matt Lucas.

 

Guests that joined Stella McCartney and Steve Coogan at the event this evening included: Kylie Minogue, Salma Hayek, Jessie Ware, M.I.A, Neneh Cherry, Poppy Delevingne, Arizona Muse, Aluna Francis, Jeremy Irvine, Paul Whitehouse, Twiggy Lawson, Victoria Pendleton, Ronnie and Sally Wood, Mary McCartney, James McCartney, and many more.

 

Steve Coogan co-wrote, produced and starred in the film adaptation Philomena, which was awarded with a Golden Glove, BAFTA and two Academy Awards nominations. He co-founded the production company Baby Cow productions.

 

Guests at the event enjoyed holiday treats such as mince pies, Christmas cookies, Charbonnel and Walker hot chocolate, roasted chestnuts, Perrier Jouet champagne, Absolut Elyx cocktails, and mulled wine.
