BALENCIAGA RELAUNCHES WEBSITE

BALENCIAGA Relaunches Global Website as Dynamic Hub for E-Commerce and Communication

In keeping with its radical tradition of innovation and exploration, BALENCIAGA announces the re-launch of its global website www.balenciaga.com. Under Creative Director Alexander Wang in collaboration with creative agency Fantasy Interactive and in partnership with Yoox Group,  the new site is nimble, intuitive and visually elegant: a dynamic hub for e-commerce and communication. With a completely new framework and design, the website is a direct extension of the core values of BALENCIAGA but extended into today’s digital era in look, feel and experience.

Says Alexander Wang, BALENCIAGA Creative Director, “I envisioned an essential Balenciaga site that conveyed the creativity of the brand in every click and swipe: the same degree of detail and finesse as in the collections.”

The BALENCIAGA website is compatible with all devices, from smartphones to tablets to desktops, with clear, distinct visuals and navigation panes. Linked to social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, and available in seven languages, the site is a key channel to share the modernity of the BALENCIAGA universe with its global users.

Says Isabelle Guichot, BALENCIAGA President and CEO, “The new site is the brand’s most visible global flagship, a digital ambassador that connects collections to customer in an integrated and fluid way.”

The opening home page welcomes visitors with exclusive, full-bleed images from the Spring-Summer 2015 runway show, and can easily delve further into the visual codes of the House, with behind-the-scenes videos, news, campaign, boutique and event visuals.

The site is anchored by a vertical navigation scroll with four categories: the first two comprising an interactive e-commerce store carrying a complete selection of women’s and men’s ready-to-wear and accessories, jewels and fragrances.  Consistent with its architectural silhouettes, BALENCIAGA presents its online collections on runway models and with looks viewable in 360 degrees. Fabrics and details can be viewed close-up via intuitively-expandable windows to increase product knowledge.

The latest collections can be viewed in the visually-enhanced Lookbooks category, where users are able to instinctively scroll through enlarged runway views.

Visitors can further explore the latest news, campaigns and history of “La Maison” via lush image galleries. A unique store locator feature allows visitors to quickly check product availability and schedule in-person appointments at global boutiques, linking real-time luxury with digital ease.
