Spring Summer 2014 sees the launch of British designer Yuvna Kim’s first eveningwear collection.
Looking to the 1920s, Kim’s debut collection draws inspiration from luxurious deco jewellery; its bold geometric shapes, lavish ornamentation, subtle neutral colour palette ranging from nude and biscuit to white.
Hailing early Hollywood glamour, sheer tulle and georgette gowns and cocktail dresses are adorned with tonal embroidery and silver or gold sequins fit for a ‘20s silver screen siren. Meanwhile, Kim nods to the braided chains, tassels and feathers that define the era’s jewellery, with her use of delicate applique tulle flowers and intricate embellishment in crystals, glass beads or rice pearls.
