LOVE FOR LONDON
Jeremy Piven might be known for playing hard-nosed movie agent Ari Gold, but when the 47-year-old actor and star of Entourage visited Omega House last night, he was full of praise for London 2012.
‘I was lucky to go to a few events and think the city’s doing an incredible job,’ he said, enjoying a drink with friends in the Ladymatic Lounge. ‘In keeping with the British tradition of modesty and working really hard, you’ve put on an amazing show.’
His praise must be heartfelt – as a native New Yorker, his hometown lost out to London in the Olympic bidding process seven years ago.
Piven, who won a Golden Globe for his role in Entourage, has been spending plenty of time in the British capital – he’s currently filming a TV series about Harry Gordon Selfridge, founder of Selfridges. A keen tennis player, he’s managed to catch a little of the Olympic action at Wimbledon between takes. ‘It was such fun to watch Andy Murray win the gold,’ he said. ‘I love this place. I’m happy to be here.’
