Arfango Store Launch

Recently I was invited along to the store launch to view the collections for both men and women and was amazed by the craftmanship that goes into a pair of Arfango's.

Arfango's history goes back to 1902, but its recent reincarnation has been spearhead by Alberto Moretti. The tall, 35-year-old, polo playing Italian has been creative director since 2006. He has transformed Arfango from a small family business into a brand now sold in over 200 select stores around the world. Previously he worked at Car Shoe, which his father co-owned with Prada's Patrizio Bertelli. Alberto's vision at Arfango has turned the velvet shoe into a must-have dress shoe for any man.

The Arfango brand which is of contemporary mix, innovative design and traditional artisanal techniques has attracted an impressive fan base that includes Cameron Diaz, Rachel Blanchard, Morgan Freeman, Adrien Brody, Ryan Gosling and much more. The decor of the boutique is a mix of seductive, passion and elegance. The whole inspiration behind boutique creation was that of theatre where the shoes are the protagonists and the dark black painted niches represent the stage. The red fire velvet pillars and curtains brings a very intimate feel to the boutique.

Alberto Moretti took on the role of creative director after the family had acquired the the Arfango brand and injected a new energy and modernity into the collection. Its iconic 'velvet shoe,' a silk velvet, hand-stitched moccasin, in a broad colour palette from the racy fire-engine-red through royal blue, purple and lavender, to the more classic chocolate brown, gun metal grey and deepest black.

When you buy these shoes you get 3 shoes Love, Me and You so you can mix and match how you feel!
Actress Rachel Blanchard recently paired a strappy silver pair with a Garner Grace slouchy silk jumpsuit to the launch event for "Shift the power to the people"
