WATCH IT NOW - J.W. Anderson MEN Spring Summer 2017 #LCM

Alexander McQueen Men's Spring/Summer 2017 #LCM

The journey of the menswear collection begins in 1960s swinging London and moves to a dusty exotic world. Traditional, sharply cut Savile Row tailoring in sober shades gradually becomes more exotic and opulent, inspired by India during the Empire period, where the palette and iconography is fully embraced, from safari colours to sun-bleached leopard prints and exotic landscapes to ornate embroideries. Jewellery fit for a Maharaja referenced the lavishness of the time and the spirit of the 60s adds a dandified irreverence to the collection.

Tailoring this season is key: Suiting comes in four-, six- and eight-buttoned single and double-breasted with a high break and are available in pinstripe, an overblown pyjama stripe or solid desert shades, worn over a simple button down shirt or a more flamboyant ruffled option. Trousers come in 3 main silhouettes; neat and narrow, fitted and flared from the knee down or loose and cropped. The traditional paisley has been reworked into an ornate metallic jacquard, engineered on suit jackets and trousers. There’s also a print inspired by postcards from the 60s and a print of hummingbirds in a misty Indian landscape in daylight and twilight colour-ways. Handcraft this season is expressed through elaborate embellishment. Zardozi embroideries of metal and sequin are hand-stitched along the borders and cuffs of silk velvet tunics and ceremonial coats. The sunflower, a symbolic motif of the 60s, has been reinterpreted in an 18th century style. The signature floral of the collection, it comes as a metallic jacquard or embroidered in gold in the front panels and sleeves of jackets and coats. Distressed Breton and tiger striped lightweight knits, djellabas and blousons evoke the casual style of the McQueen handwriting.

Savile Row wools, silk satin, denim twill, overblown pyjama stripe and pinstripe, metallic paisley and sunflower jacquards, postcard printed silk, faded leopard jacquard, daylight & twilight hummingbird on wool and leather, snakeskin.

Grey, black, saffron and mustard yellow, sand pink, sky blue, poppy red.

Leather plimsoles. Antique silver maharaja nose & ear hoops, maharaja jewelled brooch pins and hand jewellery with eclectic rings.

CHESTER BARRIE SS 17 #LCM

Chester Barrie Spring/Summer 2017

Chester Barrie’s Spring Summer 2017 collection is designed to make sure men look great when it matters most.
Whether it’s a wedding, a garden party or even Royal Ascot, there is something to ensure that guys will look their best.
Highlights include tailoring in lightweight summer cloths including wool, silk, and linen blends which feature in a sophisticated colour palette of ecru, mid blues and warm greys.
Comfort and discreet elegance is key with half lined jackets, which are as easy to style with a fine knit as they are with a shirt and tie.
With the fashion for formal dress codes at weddings, Chester Barrie gives options for formal dress, black tie and great lightweight tailoring. A bright blue dinner suit with an ottoman facing lapel is the epicentre of this story. It’s lighter than the average suit but still screams glamour. Silk jacquard cocktail jackets and a cream dinner suit complete the black tie offer; while three piece suits in light grey or classic navy have a certain ubiquity.
A hero piece of the collection is an unashamedly British double breasted blazer. Made in lightweight flannel, the six button French Navy knockout is old school dressing for the younger generation.
Also important are suits that can be broken down into separates giving more choiceChester Barrie make this look simple with their new range of suit separates, designed to be mixed and matched for versatility and maximum impact.

SPRING/ SUMMER 2017 Casa Malaparte

Oliver Spencer has a favourite house. This is no ordinary house; it is the Casa Malaparte on the Island of Capri, Italy. A house famed for its imposing modern Italian architecture. Set atop of a vertiginous coastline surrounded by sea. The natural rugged coastline is contrasted by clean modernist lines creating a harmonious relationship. Inspired by minimalist design, Oliver Spencer has created a collection with a distinct 1950’s Mediterranean influence.

Paired back styling and a colour palette of Pompeii red, rust and navy are offset with vibrant honey, cream and ecrus. Fabrications include silk, cotton, linen, merino and nylon.

Key pieces include: Linear print Portobello jacket in navy and Pompeii red, new style Tom’s Jacket with long-line lapel detail and checkered merino cardigan and short co-ord’s.
