DEREK LAM OPENS BERGDORF SHOP IN SHOP

Derek Lam is pleased to announce the opening of its first shop in shop in Bergdorf Goodman.  The space reflects a brand new retail design concept for Derek Lam Collection created by William Sofield of Studio Sofield, which will subsequently be integrated to the Derek Lam free-standing store at 764 Madison Avenue.   The shop reflects the brand's signature details of blending minimal design with feminine sensuality.

Unique design elements are shown through mohair and cast glass hang bars and frosted mirror flooring combined with silk carpeting to create geometric shapes.  It features a color palette of ivory, silver, gray, bone, pale pink and black.

At Bergdorf Goodman the shop is located on the new sixth floor named "The New Level of Fashion" which opened in May 2015.  The 375 square foot shop-in-shop showcases the brand's women's ready-to-wear collection and provides a shopping experience that overlooks Central Park with the look and feel of a luxury residence.

William Sofield stated "The tactile and technical are in perfect balance.  Derek's quiet vision is revealed as his fashion floats on rock crystal wands hovering above a glass floor.  The quintessential view of New York with the Plaza, Sherry Netherland, Pierre and Central Park as the backdrop; at once nostalgic and forward looking."

Derek Lam stated "Bill Sofield has created a jewel box corner shop which compliments the aesthetics of the Derek Lam brand: luxury thru the lens of a modern lifestyle. It perfectly shares the same values as Bergdorf Goodman: Exceptionally high quality of design for a memorable retail experience. Like the Derek Lam collection itself, beauty and integrity are showcased in a special new environment at Bergdorf Goodman."
