AEVHA London launches The Walrus Room

AEVHA LONDON'S ALICE HORLICK OPENS FIRST BAR IN THE CAPITAL

Having already caught the eye of several celebrities and the fashion set, emerging London-based handbag brand, AEVHA London is following in the footsteps of some of fashion’s greats. Founder and creative director, Alice Horlick is pleased to announce The Walrus Room – a new Victorian-esque bar in Battersea.

Inspired by the likes of Karl Lagerfeld, Dolce & Gabbana, Marc Jacobs, D2 and Moschino and their own bars and restaurants, Alice firmly believes in not just designing the wares, but curating the environments that they visit. “I wanted to create a space that AEVHA London customers would enjoy coming to for finest alcoholic beverages and curiosities. I didn’t want to brand it AEVHA, but make it its own unique space with its own signature,” says Alice.

The Walrus Room takes its name from The Walrus and The Carpenter poem from Lewis Carroll's Through The Looking Glass, and Alice just happens to be named after the Alice. The Walrus Room will present an array of artisanal hedgerow cocktails alongside seasonal British oysters. The signature cocktail menu has been developed in partnership with Shaker & Co, who has also worked with Shoreditch's Night Jar.

The conceptual drinkery is the brainchild of Alice and film producer, Nathan Engelbrecht. Alice goes on to say, “I have always been fascinated by both the Victorian period and Lewis Carroll's works, having been named after Alice In Wonderland myself. Both Nathan and I loved the idea of recreating what a Victorian cocktail bar would have been like had such a thing existed; a place where Carroll might have frequented with a menu made up of homemade cordials and infusions of ingredients picked from the British hedgerow.'

The Walrus Room at 40 Battersea Rise, London, SW11 1EE opened its doors on the 9th of June and will be open from 6:00pm to 11:00pm Tuesdays to Thursdays and 6:00pm to 12:00pm on Fridays and Saturdays.

All handbags are welcome, but anyone carrying an AEVHA London bag will get the first drink free.
