THE PHILIPPINES - A STANDOUT SUCCESS AT LONDON FASHION WEEK
The fourth annual International Fashion Showcase, produced by the British Council and the British Fashion Council over London Fashion Week was a resounding success for the Philippines.
The country, known for producing some of the most famous creatives and influencers in the world – think Monique Lhuillier, Josie Natori, Mich Dulce, Michael Cinco, fashion blogger Bryan Boy and musicians Nicole Scherzinger and Bruno Mars, welcomed swathes of visitors to its pavilion each day.
The six rising star talents, Jaggy Glarino, John Herrera, Renan Pacson, Michelline Syjuco, Tony Evan and Ken Samudio, who received an honourable mention for his sculpturesque accessories, showcased their AW15 collections, curated by award-winning Gino Gonzales and inspired by the folklore and mythical creatures of tales and legends that dominate Philippine culture and society.
Teeming with visitors around the clock, notable attendees included ambassador for emerging talent at the British Fashion Council and American Vogue contributor Sarah Mower (pictured with the six designers above), head of talent and senior fashion editor of Vogue Italia, Sara Maino, CEO of the British Fashion Council Caroline Rush, world-famous fashion blogger, Susie Bubble, head of fashion and luxury at the Evening Standard, Maurice Mullen, Fashion One Television, MTV, London Live Television, Distract TV and an assortment of top level representatives and buyers from Browns, Selfridges and Barneys.
