HUGO BOSS PRIZE Winner Paul Chan Opens at the Guggenheim Museum

From the 6th March through until the 13th May 2015, the exhibition “The Hugo Boss Prize 2014: Paul Chan, Nonprojections for New Lovers” will be on view at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York. Chan was announced to be the tenth artist to receive the HUGO BOSS PRIZE November 20, 2014.

The exhibition will feature the first U.S. presentation of Chan’s series “Nonprojections”, which he launched in 2013. Moreover the exhibition will also include 'Tetra Gummi Phone', a 2015 work that signals a new direction in Chan’s practice: Described by the artist as a sculptural animation, this composition of white nylon fabric set in motion by industrial fans evokes an otherworldly apparition. The New York based artist is recognized for his multifaceted and often experimental body of work that includes animated projections, community-based performances, conceptual typefaces, and digital and print publishing.
