Jason Wu Resort 2015

For the 2015 Resort Collection Jason looked to the modern work of industrial designer Dieter Rams for inspiration. He liked the concept of geometric dressing and merged clean, linear lines on a slim silhouette, plastic detailing and a pastel palette through his unique take on American sportswear.

Jason updated his signature pieces including a bias draped dress in a dreamy silk plaid, an abstract striped jacquard in a top and short, a fluid dress with Chantilly lace detailing and gowns in silk gauze. The suit, another key shape in the collection, is shown in several fabrications including leather, organza/lace, doubleface crepe and boucle ́. As always, craftsmanship and embellishments play a key role in the collection. This season he mixes sheared mink with doubleface wool on a sleeveless coat, a corded lace dress and a gown is intricately beaded with clear tubes in a geometric pattern. The color palette includes petal, plexi, glass, light celadon, plaster and chalk.

The shoe and handbag collection reflect the same pastel color palette and modern aesthetic. The strong white plastic detailing updates a Maryjane and a strappy flat sandal. Jason also introduced the new Hanne handbag in a soft body trop lóeil clutch and crossbody bag. The Christy and Jourdan handbags are updated in colorblock leather and suede. The Daphne is updated with a pastel watersnake panel.
