THAKOON SS13 #NYFW

For Spring/Summer 2013, Thakoon’s collection takes a romantic flight through aviaries. Inspired by Miro, collaged abstraction creates studied, deliberate composition. A foundation of black & white introduces flashes of color from a saturated palette of parrot green, chartreuse, acid green and cobalt with hints of pale, soft pinks and blues. Taking form in embroidery, pattern and silhouette, metalwork tracery weaves throughout the simple, sixties-derived shapes. This captured fantasy is rendered in poplin, leather, organza, duchesse silk & floral jacquard that recurs as a print and filigree knit. Heeled open toe loafers and stacked t-strap sandals complete the feeling of a whimsical, preppy collection.
