Rachel Comey reworks Audrey Hepburn's coat

Rachel Comey Re-Work Audrey Hepburn's orange “Breakfast at Tiffany's” coat for AW12 - available exclusively at Couverture

For AW12 US designer Rachel Comey has re-worked the iconic orange coat worn by Audrey Hepburn in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”. With a looser silhouette and no external buttons, the coat is a modern take on the well-known piece. And the similarities are not just reserved for the look of the coat, Rachel even used the same factory that made the original coat for the film – world-famous Italian mill, Casentino. The cloth from the mill is produced in signature orange and is water resistant and incredibly warm. Made by true craftsman and then realised in a modern coat by Rachel, the coat is costly at £949 but is a truly iconic and timeless piece for any woman’s wardrobe. There is just one coat being stocked exclusively in the UK by Couverture in Notting Hill and online at www.couvertureandthegarbstore.com . Owner Emily Dyson has been stocking Rachel Comey’s work exclusively in the UK for several seasons now and couldn’t resist the chance to offer a piece of fashion history to the Couverture customer.
