For AW12, online fashion retailer ASOS is partnering with sports lifestyle brand Puma to launch ASOS BLACK x PUMA, a collection fusing fashion and sport. The range comprises 60 pieces, including both apparel and a selection of accessories, in technical sports finishes and fashion shapes designed for aesthetic not performance. Traditionally tailored garments such as a two button wool suit have been updated with technical fastenings and a touch of orange running throughout the collection, added to the reverse of the collar. Jackets in sporting shapes including gilets and puffa jackets in mid-greys and blues have been modernised with contrasting internal details, technical zip finishes and orange draw cords. These are twinned with either grey nylon sports trousers or dark stretch skinny denim trousers. Knitwear is ribbed and features contrasting colour panels on the sleeves in grey and orange, while the prints on short sleeve T-shirts and long sleeved fitted shirts is integral to the collection and has been inspired by architectural shapes. The accessories include a selection of black leather rucksacks, nylon baseball caps and round lens metal sunglasses, with all products featuring rubberised embossed branding with the ASOS BLACK x PUMA logo.
