Jimmy Choo launches coffee table book to celebrate 15th Anniversary

In conjunction with the brand’s 15th Anniversary, Jimmy Choo will release a coffee table book this October entitled, JIMMY CHOO XV, published by Rizzoli. With a foreword by fashion journalist Colin McDowell and introduction by Tamara Mellon, Jimmy Choo Founder and Chief Creative Officer, JIMMY CHOO XV chronicles the 15 most significant shoes from the company’s archives. The book comprises imagery shot by photographers such as Mario Testino and Terry Richardson, editorial from the world’s top fashion magazines, paparazzi shots from the red carpet, design studio sketches and behind the scenes photography. The book is divided into eight chapters, each focusing on the signature design and recognisable themes that have helped to define the brand. For example, Chapter One reflects on the celebrity icons that have helped define the brand, and highlights the ‘Feather’ shoe worn by Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City. From 26 October, JIMMY CHOO XV will be launched exclusively in Jimmy Choo stores worldwide with a deluxe edition featuring a snakeskin print embossed slipcase. The book will be available in fine booksellers worldwide from February 2012 and the company will donate one hundred percent of its revenues from the sale of the book to charitable trust, the Jimmy Choo Foundation. Suggested retail price for the deluxe edition is £60/$95/€70.

Tamara Mellon introduces ICONS - a capsule collection of shoes inspired by the most significant creations from the Jimmy Choo archives.


The ICONS collection has been especially created to celebrate 15th anniversary year of Jimmy Choo.

JIMMY CHOO ANNOUNCES COLLABORATION WITH FINE ART PHOTOGRAPHER NAN GOLDIN

Jimmy Choo has announced its collaboration with fine art photographer Nan Goldin and she will create stunning images to celebrate the launch of the ICONS collection.  ICONS is an exciting capsule collection based on 15 of the most iconic Jimmy Choo shoes.  Tamara Mellon, OBE and CEO, has also announced the launch of The Jimmy Choo Foundation to support women in need around the world.

About Nan Goldin

Nan Goldin is one of the most highly respected contemporary art photographers of today. Her piece the ballad of sexual dependency has been cited as one of the greatest influences upon western contemporary art, and she is credited for validating the snapshot as art. Goldin sees herself as “a defender of the real, the raw and the unaltered.” She has stated that the original motivation to take photographs was “to make a record against revisionism and to retain memory”.




“I’ve long been an admirer of Nan’s honest and emotional work and her ability to portray her subjects in a way that is beautiful and raw. Because the Jimmy Choo Foundation benefits women and issues of empowerment, it was important for me to find a photographer whose work was able to convey not only the powerful but also the sensitive and softer side of Jimmy Choo.”
