Lost Lace Collection - Julia Burness Jewellery

Lost Lace Collection

Julia Burness Jewellery creates strong, striking collections with ‘Lost Lace’ offering a unique collection of sterling silver and vermeil lace jewellery with a delicate, vintage feel.

Julia Burness studied Silver Smithing and Jewellery Design at Sir John Cass, London prior to starting her own business specialising in working with cast lace and wax carving. The Lost Lace collection was created by using lost-wax casting to cast pieces of lace found in London’s vintage clothes markets in silver and gold plated bronze. The inspiration for the Lost Lace collection was the idea of bringing beautiful pieces from the past into the present and Julia has created large, dramatic pieces which are exquisite and incredibly light. The Lost Lace collection is a favourite with celebrities and style magazines alike including; Vogue, Matches, Magpie Darling, Heat Magazine, In Style and worn by Donna Air, Amber Atherton, Alice Gold and Eliza Doolittle.

All of Julia’s stunning pieces are created at her studio in Hatton Garden, London and can be purchased online http://www.juliaburnessjewellery.com/ . Keen to be environmentally minded, Julia uses gold from artisanal and Fair Trade gold mines and recycled silver where possible.  Julia Burness also specialises in one-off bespoke work, creating jewellery from pieces of vintage lace.

DOLCE & GABBANA - LACE COLLECTION - EYEWEAR

Lace, which has always been part of the Dolce&Gabbana DNA, becomes the main character of the eyewear collection, thus incorporating the sensual elegance and craftsmanship typical of the brand. The sartorial tradition is interpreted in this collection, thanks to the hand-made inlaying of real lace inside the eyewear frame.

The sunglasses collection includes four styles with either 80’s inspired or enveloping shapes, all produced in four elegant colours: black, white, scarlet red and green. The optical collection is composed of styles which vary from ‘cat-eye’, 50s inspired shapes, to more classic and geometrical shapes.

The styles that have been produced with inlayed lace throughout the entire frame, are presented in an exclusive case that is also covered in lace, and made even more precious by a golden and silver plaque with the Dolce&Gabbana logo. Great attention to detail is notable for the entire collection: the logo and the tips of the frame are in golden plated metal.
