Charlie le Mindu presents his seventh collection for Autumn/Winter 2012 inspired by a glamorous vision of 1930’s futurism. Charlie le Mindu returns to his roots focusing on the head, reaffirming himself as the unrivalled master of Haute Coiffure and continuing to push boundaries of how hair is perceived within fashion. Exhibiting for the second time with The British Fashion Council’s on-schedule Headonism initiative, Charlie continues to build momentum on an increasingly sophisticated and intelligent trajectory. This season Charlie le Mindu takes on a new role as Avant-Garde Hair Director at Urban Retreat salons as well as unveiling a dedicated section within their flagship London-store at Harrods.
Celebrating bold, clean lines and art deco inspired geometric shapes through headpieces and haute coiffure the collection reference influences from Charlie le Mindu’s native France with Toile de Jouey fabrics and lilac-rinse hair tones. Straight lines move through box jackets, pencil skirts and straight-leg trousers, brining an androgynous and contemporary edge to the decorative fabrics from which they are cut. As in previous seasons, Charlie’s extraordinary fashion pieces are made using the world’s highest quality natural human hair by European hair-extension experts Hairdreams. This season showcases unique violet and black tones created exclusively for the collection.
French born Charlie le Mindu studied at the French Hair Academy before pioneering pop-up salons in the nightclubs of Berlin. Charlie le Mindu has worked with photographers Ellen von Unwerth, David Simms and Nick Knight amongst others for high profile editorials and now shoots for Vogue as a hair stylist. An ever-growing celebrity client list includes some of the biggest names in art, music and design and Charlie continues to exhibit his work in prestigious locations internationally including most recent during Couture Fashion Week at the Cartier Institute in Paris.
