MUST SEE - THE CLOTHESHORSE FOR BENCH #LOVEMYHOOD - Behind the Scenes

Last week D Day arrived and D Day for me was taking part in the Bench Original #LOVEMYHOOD global campaign which I was totally honoured to be a part of .... Ive included some behind the scene pictures for you to see and everything will be reveal November 20th with a star studded exhibition .... Do check out the information below on what the project is about and how you can get involved and win an amazing prize which includes a chance to win a city break and £1,000 worth of Bench gear .... Here's my interpretation of the hood ....

In celebration of the hood being an integral piece of each and every Bench collection since they began back in Manchester in the late 1980’s, #Lovemyhood London is the final exciting stage of a global campaign and project.

Focusing on the blogger and how they have become a formidable part of the fashion landscape, the UK concept turns the lenses of bloggers and young influencers alike back on themselves by inviting them to be photographed or illustrated by one of four incredible artists and photographers including:

Andrew Khozravani, a South London based illustrator and animator who’s past clients include Dazed & Confused, Slam City Skates and Wu Tang Clan, amongst others

Dominic Marley who can count Nike, Redbull and Carhartt among the pages of his photography portfolio

Sussex based creative and illustrator Rebel Yuth aka John Ryan Speed, who brings music culture to life through his intricate line drawings

and Stew Capper portrait photographer and proud contributor to NME, Article and Vice Magazine.

Each artist has captured the portrait of 16 incredible young bloggers and influencers selected for their discerning taste and style. Both have worked collaboratively to interpret an iconic piece of Bench apparel- the hoody- into an image that defines and reflects their experience of London, the city they live and work in.

The Unisexmode, Snoochie Shy, Pause Magazine, Talk Casuals and Apparently Magazine are just some of the incredible talent involved in the resulting artwork that will be officially launched at a private view exhibition on Thursday 20th November.

The #Lovemyhood campaign spans the globe from Canada to Germany to London and the UK. Celebrating how the young city dweller adapts their hoody to fit their busy everyday lives, the campaign runs in conjunction with a competition to win a city break and £1,000 of Bench gear. Bench. Self Made NYC - SS13 - Exclusive Campaign Look Book & Video

Bench. Self Made NYC - SS13

This seasons campaign sees the brand pack up and head to the Big Apple, the city of dreams, to hunt out the incredible people and the underground scenes that are driving the city and making great things happen. Featuring a stunning film by acclaimed music video director Ben Fries, and a bold shoot on the streets and rooftops of Brooklyn by of the moment fashion photographer, Ben Rayner.

A towering and iconic city that people flock towards to work hard and succeed, NYC was an obvious choice for the next phase of the Self Made platform. The film, a love letter to the city and a fearless manifesto of what exactly it means to be Self Made, features 5 of New York’s most exciting creatives. The video & brand book showcases rapper Kilo Kish, clothing designer Jack Greer, photographer Sunny Shokrae, sculptor Jack Henry and illustrator Jeff Henrikson. The video will be Bench’s first foray into creative film.

The three-part shoot with Ben Rayner features six street cast faces. The use of street cast models, chosen for their unique looks, cements the brand’s commitment to authenticity and supporting independent young people. Shot around Brooklyn the shoot brings Bench’s fresh spring/summer line to the urban backdrop of the city’s creative borough.

Real Scenes: Detroit

You can't talk about electronic music without mentioning Detroit. The city's DJs and producers birthed the genre we now call techno. Detroit, though, has always had a creative streak, due largely to the boom and subsequent bust of the auto industry. Quite simply, Detroit is a city of extremes, and its music reflects that.

For many, the legacy of Detroit is just that—a legacy. We've partnered with RA to bring you another edition of Real Scenes to destroy this myth. RA and Bench found a number of artists with their eyes (and ears) firmly set towards the future. After our time here, it's clear that Detroit will endure and innovate for years to come.
