THE HERITAGE
Being perfectly attired for life on the road is as at the very foundation of British luxury brand dunhill. This is as true with the AW16 Collection as it was when dunhill first began in 1893 at the dawn of the age of the car.
Motorities is the name given by Alfred Dunhill, the company’s founder to the unique accessories and clothing he developed at the turn of the last century. Dunhill’s goal: to supply stylish drivers, the early adopters of this newfangled technology, with all their clothing and accessory needs. “Everything but the motor’ - Alfred Dunhill’s ambitious description the first Motorities Collection.
This hundred-year-old spirit informs AW16’s Collection this winter with its elements-defying, hand-engineered outerwear, luxuriously hardy luggage, knitwear and accessories.
THE LOOK
Elegantly layered, rich-hued and textured, the Collection is inspired by the romance of the open road, by kitting out the modern gentleman for a life of adventure.
Drawing from the rich details of the dunhill archive, the AW16 Collection’s outerwear is made of luxurious fabrics such as felted wool-lined leather driving coats; cashmere and wool knitwear and calfskin bags with rip stock cotton linings. The collection is in rich seasonal colours of charcoal, midnight navy, British racing green, truffle brown and washed black.
The collection's materials are sourced from the finest suppliers with wool, leather and cotton sourced from Italy, silk cashmere from Japan and shearling from Spain.
