Emily Blunt talks to NET-A-PORTER’s weekly fashion magazine, The EDIT

Interviewed by The EDIT’s Editor-in-Chief, Jennifer Dickinson, the A-list actress talks about the irony of being pregnant while filming the role of the cursed, childless baker’s wife in the new Disney extravaganza Into The Woods, and how a compliment from Meryl Streep early in her career “blew her hair back”.

In the lively interview, Blunt, mother to 10-month-old Hazel, also talks about how raising children is a “fear-based industry” and the highs and lows of having a career in Hollywood. The actress also describes the role of the baker’s wife in Into the Woods as the best part she’s ever been given, despite initially being too “mortified” to sing in public.

For The EDIT, Paola Kudacki photographed Blunt in dramatic eveningwear designed by Tibi, Temperley London, MM6 Maison Martin Margiela, Marni, Adam Lippes, Erdem, Hervé Léger, Lanvin, Tome, The Row and Missoni. She also wears accessories by Fendi, Erickson Beamon, Narciso Rodriguez and Jimmy Choo.

In the accompanying film shot exclusively for The EDIT Blunt also talks about her pet hates: the words “moist” and “ointment”, bad manners and people sniffing, plus how her British accent has helped her get out of parking and speeding tickets in the US.
