Urban elegance. The design of Les Hommes Spring Summer 2015 collection exudes
the taste of steel of modern construction. Lean and clean lines, techniques and
materials are stolen from sportswear and reinterpreted through a sophisticated vision.
This season sculptures of Richard Serra are the main focus of the Tom Notte's and
Bart Vandebosch's vision. Metallic alterations and the clash of the pointed
architectural creations of the American artist are reflected in shapes and materials.
Notte and Vandebosch have worked on a balanced silhouette. Suits are fitted and
never excessive, while outerwear enlivens couture reminiscences with sensibly
proportioned egg shapes as well as balanced oversized pieces. Lengths are reduced,
the shorts rise above the knee and tops are waist length.
Bonded leather T-shirts with patchwork effect alternate with sweatshirts, featuring
geometric leather inserts paired with dress shirts and ties. Bomber jackets and
parkas represent Les Hommes urban uniform; the first comes embellished with
elegant detailing and contrasting colours, the latter is presented with a minimal, yet
oversize silhouette. Jacquard shorts and bonded silks are enhanced through surreal
photographic prints, specifically created by the duo.
Material blend reflects the DNA of the brand in a harmonious tour through neoprene,
leather, Prince of Wales suits and metallic shirts. New techniques and classic
combinations coexist in a mutual valorisation.
The colour palette is mainly composed by shades of blue and grey, with metallic accents
and unexpected yellow strokes.
Rigorously total black golf inspired shoes and sandals complete the look. On the
accessories small calla shaped brooches bestow a touch of light to the outfits.
Bags and suitcases are dedicated to business and leisure: document folders, iPad cases,
briefcases, men’s clutches and spacious weekend bags, all offered in brushed calf or
soft leather.
