TOD’S CELEBRATES THE GOMMINO WITH A NEW ADVERTISING CAMPAIGN

To celebrate its iconic Gommino, Tod’s launches a dedicated advertising campaign, planned both on print and digital media. The Tod’s moccasin, known the world over as theGommino, was created with the intention of combining classic Italian style with a shoe that can be worn on any occasion. This casual-chic moccasin took inspiration from the driving shoes used in the ‘50s with its trademark of a sole covered with 133 rubber ‘pebbles’ in the same color as the leather used for the shoe which give it its distinctive look.

The leathers used comes from the finest tanneries in the world, and a high level of skill is required to put together this style. The cutting of the leather and the sewing together of the pieces are all done by hand, with over 100 steps in the construction of a Tod’s shoe. Depending on the design of the shoe, there are up to 35 pieces of leather in a single model, and each needs to be individually treated and checked by hand before being assembled.
