SORAYA LONDON OPENS ITS DOORS TO WIMBLEDON VILLAGE

SORAYA LONDON today announced its grand opening on 2ndMay, 2014. The multi-brand boutique, located in the heart of Wimbledon Village at 31 High Street will offer fashion forward clothing and accessories, its aim to bring a sense of Central London to the women of the village community. The brainchild of Soraya Brooker, the shop was born of her own desires for more playful apparel options as a long-time resident of the traditionally more staid Wimbledon area.

Brooker is, in contrast, anything but demure. A Venezuelan native who has been living in the UK for over 20 years, she brings a festive Latin flair to most everything she does, SORAYA LONDON being no exception. Determined to make the boutique a fun and enticing destination for women residing in Wimbledon Village and beyond, Brooker recognizes that every woman is looking for something different. “I am not a huge shopper myself even though I love fashion,” she says. “So it was really important to me to create a warm and inviting environment and grow a friendly and welcoming team.”

To do this, Brooker dedicated months of research and scouting prior to placing any orders, the goal to hone in on high-fashion options that are still wearable for women of all ages. She attended London and Paris Fashion Weeks while taking meetings and hosting designers, eventually settling on a solid list of 15 or so rotating brands for SORAYA LONDON’s grand opening. Each season SORAYA LONDON will showcase a completely fresh assortment of wardrobe staples as well as trendier pieces by leading and upcoming designers, which can always be mixed and matched. For a complete list of SS14 and AW14 SORAYA LONDON’s featured designers, please see below.

Brooker herself is no stranger to business. After helping her husband launch and grow three successful companies while raising their three children and looking after a tiresome schedule, Brooker began to shift her focus. With a slightly less empty home, a bit more time on her hands, a strong passion for fashion and eager and willing investors behind her, Brooker has finally made her life-long dream of owning and running her own boutique a reality.
