GIORGIO ARMANI CELEBRATES THE OPENING OF ITS NEW BOUTIQUE ON CANTON ROAD HONG KONG WITH ECCENTRICO

Giorgio Armani is pleased to announce the opening of its new Giorgio Armani boutique on Canton Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong.

Yesterday, March 14th 2013, a cocktail party was held in the new store to celebrate its launch, marking the brand’s latest retail location in Hong Kong.

Over 400 guests attended the cocktail party, hosted by Roberta Armani. Representatives of the social, economic and cultural fields were present, as well renowned celebrities, including Zhang Zi Yi, Choi Si Won, Sandra Ng, Zhang Zi Lin, international model He Sui and socialite Pansy Ho; all of them wore Giorgio Armani outfits.

After the cocktail party, a private preview of the Eccentrico exhibition and an exclusive VIP dinner took place at SKY100 Hong Kong Observation Deck. On the occasion of this special event, the catering - featuring a selection of gastronomic proposals from the Italian culinary tradition - has been prepared by Soriano Meloni and Antonio D'Angelo, respectively Corporate Executive and Executive Chef of the Armani Group in Milan.

The Eccentrico exhibition launched in Milan and Tokyo last year, will be open to the public from March 14th to 17th. The exhibition showcases 51 dresses from the Giorgio Armani and Giorgio Armani Privé collections – 51 refined creations, dating from 1985 to the latest spring/summer 2013 season, that with their evocative beauty conjure up a vision of exquisite elegance, and feature fantastic, imaginative ideas that appear to transform the very essence of things. In addition to these, there are over 300 accessories on show including jewellery, shoes, bags and hats.

For the first time, the exhibition also includes a selection of unique cosmetics, from Maestro Fusion Make Up to Lip Maestro or Rouge d’Armani. Exclusive fragrances are also displayed as a tribute to the craftsmanship of Haute Parfumerie, including Crystal and the limited edition Armani Privé collections. The 2012 Year of the Dragon limited edition watch collection will also be showcased.

Lastly, to celebrate the opening, a selection of hand drawn sketches from the Eccentrico Exhibition dresses have been revealed. The sketches will be on show until the 17th of March 2013 in the boutique.

The new Giorgio Armani store covers over 950 square metres on two floors. The ground floor will present women’s and men’s ready-to-wear and accessories, including shoes, handbags and other small goods. The second floor will contain a wider selection of ready-to-wear and an additional offering of shoes for both women and men.

Giorgio Armani and his team of in-house architects have designed the interior of the store. The boutique features textured marmorino walls and matching ceilings, while the floors are in silk georgette stone. Selected furnishings throughout the store are from the Armani/Casa collection. The tables are in teak with black glass tops, and there are bamboo details in mirror-effect steel that have been finished with a satin texture to suggest the ribbing of natural bamboo. The accessories area is characterised by transparent shelves that create the impression that the goods displayed are floating. Overall, the space looks like a shiny modern bamboo jungle.

The design of the boutique blends craftsmanship and modernity to complement Giorgio Armani’s ready-to-wear and accessory collections for women and men.

Giorgio Armani’s retail network in Hong Kong is now made up of 2 Giorgio Armani boutiques, 6 Emporio Armani stores, 3 Armani Jeans stores, 5 Armani Junior stores, 7 Armani Collezioni stores, 12 A/X Armani Exchange stores, 1 Armani Dolci store and 1 Armani/Casa store.
