Converse: #MYCANVASJOURNEY Launch Recap

CONVERSE:#MYCANVASJOURNEY

4 WEEKS | 23 JOURNEYS | 1 CANVAS

Last night saw the successful launch of the Converse #MYCANVASJOURNEY Exhibition at The Hoxton Gallery, in association with Patron Tequila, Saint Beer and Rekorderlig Cider. The packed launch party went off with DJ sets from Celebrity Stylist Alexis Knox, MTV Presenter Becca Dudley and online publication Breaks Mag pleasing the large crowd of over 450 guests until late into the evening.

All guests in attendance commented on how well the exhibition had been put together and curated, taking it from a digitally focused social media campaign to an exhibition of printed imagery and stories from the past 4 weeks of the #MYCANVASJOURNEY campaign. Creative Director of RWD Magazine Dacre Bracey said, “It’s really inspiring to see social media being used in this way, the project has been great to follow and see what the instagrammers were getting up to each day and the exhibition is the perfect way to showcase all these different creative lives and journeys.”

The exhibition is now open to the general public to visit at The Hoxton Gallery, from Friday 15th to Sunday 17th March.

Over the last 4 weeks, Converse Accessories gathered together a select group of Instagrammers who represent the creative aspects of the brand – from television presenters, actors and designers to photographers, stylists and sound engineers – All selected for the interesting lives they lead and their inspiring Instagram feeds.

Over the course of the 4 weeks the Instagrammers took part in a photo campaign taking the iconic Converse Canyon Duffel Bag on their life journey. Just like a pair of Chuck Taylor’s, each bag has taken on the personality of its owner, with unique scuffs, marks and customisations gathered throughout their journeys which showcase that individual’s chosen path.

On their Journeys the bags have travelled to New York, Paris, Milan, and Los Angeles. They’ve been to four AW13 fashion weeks, been on tour with bands and signed by rock stars, been changed into a myriad of colours and travelled a total distance of the equivalent of two journeys around the world.

Be sure to visit the #MYCANVASJOURNEY exhibition running from the Friday 15th to Sunday 17th March, open from 11am until 7pm at The Hoxton Gallery, 9 Kingsland Road, London.
