For their SS’13 collection the Italian motorsports brand Alpinestars gives a nod to its American home from home, with a line of sportswear inspired baseball and basketball products which are perfectly on trend for this season. Though the brand’s headquarters and main research & development facility are located in Northern Italy, Alpinestars have a well-established Los Angeles office and with a design team based in California it’s no surprise that their all-American styling has a direct influence on pieces in the brand’s casualwear collection.
Drawing on their strong motorsports heritage, the star shaped “Blaze” logo is a prominent feature of the Split Decision and Throne tanks, whilst the bold Slauson tee has the brand’s birth year (the number “63”) emblazoned across the front of the two-tone t-shirt in a font which emulates classic American football jerseys.
Products include:
· Slauson Tee – A short sleeve crew neck with a contrast yoke and a screen printed “63” in black/white and black/blue. This piece is named after the transmission parts company of same name in California, and is also a major east-west thoroughfare for Southern Los Angeles.
· Split Decision Tank – An athletic tank with contrast paneling and applique mock mesh.
