A/W 2011 Victorian Lace Looks from Jasper Garvida......

Loved by fashion press, buyers, the fashion masses, not to mention our future queen – lace is a trend that is set to stay strong for Autumn/Winter 2011. As part of his A/W collection ‘Le Baiser’, Jasper Garvida has taken influence from the beautiful Lace produced in Victorian times.  He has cleverly fused this with oriental influences from the same era, and brought them right up to date, to bring you the following looks.

The Dragonfly Dress

The shift dress shape is made current with oversized kimono inspired sleeves, a femme fatal high slit, and subtle cut-away shapes at the waist and above the bust.  The lace provides shape and form to the outer of the garment, and is backed onto, super soft navy silk satin, that feels amazing on the skin.  Worn here with a stand-out neck piece, the Dragonfly is sure to propel the wearer into the highest echelons of sartorial notoriety

The Dragonfly Dress will be available online at www.jaspergarvida.com/cart  from August.

The Zen Skirt

With its high-waist and streamlined shape, the Zen skirt is a perfect way to update the classic pencil skirt. Flattering to every shape, the skirt creates a waist and accentuates the hips. The high slit offers an additional hint of sexiness to go with that killer silhouette. Pair it with a top of contrasting fabric and minimal accessories to maximise the hourglass effect.  For those requiring more of a day look, the Zen Skirt also comes in luxurious black cashmere.  The Zen Skirt is available online at www.jaspergarvida.com/cart  from August

The Porcelain Dress

Already a favourite of celebrities and fashion stylists, the Porcelain Dress is perfect for red carpet sirens and brides who want a wedding gown that sits well and truly outside of the box! Its asymmetric sleeves and detailing add an avant-garde edge to a classic fishtail shape.

Cream lace is backed with the highest quality, ivory silk satin, creating a subtle tone on tone effect. The adornments on the gown are a fine example of Jasper Garvida’s craftsmanship and originality; with each layer lovingly hand sewn in house, and perfectly placed to enhance and accentuate the female form.  The Porcelain Dress will be available from August, price on request

The Lunar Dress

On pale skin teamed with nude accessories and a contrasting scarlet lip, this dress oozes with edgy femininity.  Its layered neck line – a Jasper Garvida trademark – adds height and width to the shoulders, balancing out the hips, and whittling the waist. The navy silk backing provides a solid background to drive the lace detail to the forefront of the garment, whilst the daring double slit draws attention to the legs.

The Lunar dress can be found at the online store www.jaspergarvida.com/cart  from August.
